B. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste Segregation

• Polystyrene plastic materials (e.g. cups, polystyrene packages) are separated from paper and food waste. This program is implemented throughout Ayala Center Makati.

• Recyclable materials (e.g. paper, bottles, aluminum cans) are separated from food waste. This program is implemented in residential and office buildings.

C. POLLUTION CONTROL

D. WASTEWATER TREATMENT

Sewage Treatment Plant

    The plants have an average area of 3 hectares with lift stations, aeration tanks, clarifier tanks and drying beds.

    The treatment processes used are activated sludge and extended aeration. In Alabang, the treated wastewater is then  reused for irrigation purposes by the Alabang Country Club for its golf course.

    Another wastewater treatment plant is located in Laguna Technopark.
