APMC Powers Ayala Land’s National and ASEAN Recognition for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
Published on October 16, 2026
APMC continues to advance sustainable property management as its energy efficiency and conservation efforts contribute to major recognitions for Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) at the national and regional levels.
The Department of Energy (DOE) conferred the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Champion Award on Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) at the Philippine Energy Awards 2026, held on 7 October 2026 at Museo del Galeón. ALI was represented by its Chief Sustainability Officer and Strategic Growth and New Ventures’ Group Head, Mr. Robert Lao.

The recognition honors ALI’s contributions to promoting energy efficiency and sustainable energy practices in the country. It also reflects the collective efforts of ALI and APMC in implementing energy management programs across their properties.
Building on this national recognition, APMC’s commitment to energy efficiency also gained distinction on the international stage. Ayala North Exchange (ANE), ALI’s premier mixed-use development managed by APMC, was named 1st Runner-Up in the Large Building Category under Energy Management in Buildings at the ASEAN Energy Awards 2026.

The award was received by APMC President Tony Martin, recognizing ANE’s achievement among developments across Southeast Asia for its energy management efforts and further highlighting APMC’s contribution to sustainable property operations.
ANE’s recognition reflects the development’s measurable gains in energy efficiency, operational performance, and emissions reduction. Key highlights that distinguished ANE at the ASEAN Energy Awards 2026 include:
- Energy performance within the ASEAN benchmark of 128 kWh/m²/yr.
- 26% reduction in annual electricity consumption, from 8.43 million kWh to 6.27 million kWh.
- Improved chiller plant efficiency through an advanced Chiller Management System, reducing energy consumption per unit of cooling from 1.20 to 0.80 kW/TR.
- An estimated annual reduction of 1,791.58 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to lower environmental impact.
- A structured and replicable Energy Management System through ISO 50001, supported by top leadership commitment, certified professionals, and established good governance and best practices.
Alongside ANE, five other APMC-managed properties, namely BPI Intramuros, Alveo Financial Tower, Capital House, Serendra Retail, and Bonifacio High Street East, were also endorsed by the DOE for the ASEAN Energy Awards 2026.

Adding another milestone to these achievements, Michael Magpusao, APMC’s Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Chief Engineer, was invited to join the ASEAN plenary session, “Unlocking Investment for Building Energy Efficiency,” at the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF-26).
Held under the theme “Clean Energy Unlocked: A Stronger ASEAN,” the forum brought together ASEAN Energy Ministers, senior government officials, industry leaders, financial institutions, development partners, and other key stakeholders to discuss opportunities for investment, innovation, and collaboration in advancing building energy efficiency and the region’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
These milestones reflect APMC’s continued efforts to improve energy efficiency and sustainability across its managed properties while supporting Ayala Land’s broader sustainability ambitions.
